2025 Year in Review

Phew–What a year! As soon as one project wrapped, the next one was already underway. From writing to teaching to gigging, the pace has been nonstop. Below are some highlights from the past year, plus a sneak peek at what's coming in 2026.

2025 Highlights:

  • I wrote a concert band piece for the first time, entitled Remedy, and it won the Silver Melted Into Sound Composition Contest.

  • I played drum set for Mean Girls the Musical, put on by West Carrollton High School.

  • My spring/summer were busy writing marching band music for Minnesota State University and arrangements/re-writes for multiple high school programs in Ohio.

  • I got my summer band fix by teaching 5 weeks of band camps at various schools.

  • My marimba quartet, Artichoke Tango, is being performed at the Midwest Conference on December 18th at 8:30am by Little Elm High School.

Things to look out for in 2026:

  • I was commissioned to write a piece for the Licking Heights Middle School Percussion Ensemble for their performance at the 2026 OMEA Professional Development Conference. The piece is called Echoes of the Red Planet and will be premiered at OMEA on January 30th at 9:30am.

  • This 2026 Indoor Percussion season, my arrangements will be performed by the Beavercreek Middle School Drumline and Northview High School Indoor Percussion.

  • My Concert Band piece, Remedy, will be premiered by the Wright State Wind Symphony in the Spring of 2026.

  • Randall Standridge and I wrote two new (and super fun) Marching Band shows together for 2026: Club Fuego and Superstitious!

It sure has been an eventful and very busy 2025. I'm so grateful to be able to spend my time doing what I love. Thanks for reading, and I'll see you all in the new year!
