Combining 4-mallet flare with an evolving groove session, this multi-percussion solo features rhythmic development based on the question, “What are your goals?" and answer, “To get better.” Cast Off and Fly showcases the soloist’s 4-mallet technical skills as well as drum set inspired coordination and flow.
Cast off and Fly was written for my former percussion student, Emma Kieselhorst, in completion of her Music Education degree at the University of North Texas.
